Securing the site
Is work paused for a few days or weeks, for example during the holidays? The site must stay safe for its surroundings even without us.
Why?
- Children and passers-by cannot enter the site.
- Nobody falls into a pit or trips over material.
- Equipment and materials are not stolen or damaged.
Checklist before leaving
- Fences are secured and linked.
- Pits and trenches are closed or fenced off.
- Cabins, containers and switch cabinets are locked; keys are stored safely.
- Road plates, cables and pipes lie stable and are no trip hazard.
- Barriers and diversions have been checked.
