Digging near cables and pipes
Striking a gas pipe or power cable can be life-threatening. That is why we never dig without a utility notification (KLIC).
Before you dig
- Check the KLIC notification and keep the drawing with you.
- Locate cables and pipes with trial trenches first.
- Dig the last part by hand.
Struck anyway?
- Stop immediately and keep your distance.
- Smell gas? Warn the area and call 112.
- Report it to your supervisor and QHSE.
